Straightforward catalogs go on Shopify, often via Hydrogen when you need a fully custom front end without giving up Shopify's checkout and admin. Once your pricing logic, vendor relationships, or catalog structure get complicated — tiered B2B pricing, multiple sellers, subscription billing — we move to headless: Medusa or Next.js Commerce, with PostgreSQL underneath so orders, inventory, and customer data stay consistent as the business grows.

Marketplaces are their own discipline. A two- or three-sided platform needs vendor onboarding, commission splits, and payouts that don't require your team to manually reconcile who's owed what — we build that on Stripe Connect. Algolia handles product discovery once a catalog is too large for basic filtering to work. The same underlying stack supports B2B portals — net terms, quoting, bulk ordering for trade accounts — and subscription commerce, where the hard part isn't the first charge but the churn-aware flows around failed payments, pauses, and plan changes.
