What they needed
The business was taking orders by phone and in person, tracking pickups and deliveries on paper, and reconciling payments by hand at the end of each day. That worked at a single counter, but it left no real-time view of revenue, outstanding invoices, or driver workload, and every growth conversation started with someone manually rebuilding the numbers in a spreadsheet. Customers had no way to place or track an order themselves, and cash-heavy collection made revenue reporting slow and error-prone.
What we built
We built a customer-facing ordering app in React Native for scheduling pickup and delivery, backed by a Node.js and PostgreSQL system that runs the full financial side of the business — invoicing, payment collection through Stripe, and reconciliation — not just order tracking. Every order automatically generates an invoice and posts to the ledger once paid, replacing the end-of-day manual tally. The whole stack runs on AWS, giving the business a cloud-based system that scales as order volume and locations grow, with one real-time view of cash flow instead of a paper trail.
How we approached it
Built the customer ordering flow and the financial back office on one shared data model, so every order is automatically an invoice, not a separate manual step.
Used Stripe for payment collection so cash handling stops being the default and revenue posts to the ledger the moment a customer pays.
Ran the system on AWS from day one so the business can add locations or drivers without re-architecting the backend.
Gave ordering, invoicing, and reconciliation one real-time dashboard instead of three disconnected records to manually match at day's end.
